Changes for Hospital In Eden

The Concho County Hospital District board has voted to transition the county’s hospital in Eden from a Critical Access Hospital to a Rural Emergency Hospital, a new federal designation aimed at helping rural facilities stay open and financially viable. Under the rural emergency model, the hospital will continue to offer 24‑hour emergency care, observation and other outpatient services, but will no longer provide inpatient stays beyond short observation periods.
