A news release from the Concho Christmas Celebration organization:
As we embark on the 2020 Season of the Concho Christmas Celebration Tour of Lights, we acknowledge this year’s serious challenges – as well as – the possible benefits that a joyous celebration of Christ’s birth will bring to our community. This year’s Tour will be one of the most uplifting events of 2020 – an occasion for the citizens of San Angelo and the Concho Valley to cherish with family and friends.
The 27th annual Concho Christmas Celebration Tour of Lights will begin with the “soft” opening on Friday, December 4th, and will run every night through Thursday, December 31st. The Tour will open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights, and from 6 p.m. to Midnight on Friday and Saturday evenings. A suggested cash donation of $5 per vehicle is greatly appreciated, and families are invited to walk, run, bike, or drive the Tour.
There is no event like the Concho Christmas Celebration and the show will be especially significant this year! For the past 27 years, the Tour of Lights has illuminated the banks of the Concho River throughout the month of December, delighting guests from across the state and nation, bringing families and friends together, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
The Tour of Lights, with a few minor modifications, will comply with all social distancing guidelines since family/friends will be isolated in their vehicles as they enjoy the Celebration.
In an effort to be respectful of the safety of all our citizens, the 2020 Lights of Christmas Parade and Community Tree Lighting Ceremony have been canceled.
