Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is warning residents to report mysterious seed packages that continue to show up in mailboxes across the state. Since early 2025, officials have collected more than 1,100 packs of unsolicited seeds, often shipped from overseas, which could introduce invasive species and threaten crops and ecosystems. Miller says the seeds may be linked to scams but also pose serious biosecurity risks. Anyone receiving a package should leave it sealed and contact the Texas Department of Agriculture at 1-800-TELL-TDA for safe disposal instructions.
