So much rain fell on the Texas Hill Country, one week ago, that it’s helping inch the state out of a historic drought. State Climatologist John Nielsen-Gammon says that other parts of the state are still struggling. Near Del Rio, he says, rainfall is half of what they normally see. His latest numbers show that the total percentage of Texas that in drought conditions is down to about 30-percent.
