A 41-year-old man is facing an aggravated assault charge after police say he threatened to kill a woman and another man while holding a knife during a domestic disturbance. According to investigators, Abel Buitron-Salas went to a home on West Avenue R, became upset when the woman—his estranged common-law wife—refused to speak privately, and allegedly held a knife near her face while making threats. A witness recorded the incident, and police say the audio supports the victims’ accounts. Officers later recovered a knife matching the description, and Buitron-Salas was taken into custody and charged.
