Big Vision for the Concho: San Angelo Launches Riverwalk Master Plan

The City of San Angelo is teaming up with community partners to develop a long-term River Parks Master Plan aimed at transforming the Concho Riverwalk into a more accessible and engaging space for residents and visitors. Monica Ramos, executive director of Downtown San Angelo Inc., says the vision focuses on improving connectivity, creating room for events and public art, and encouraging everyday use along key areas like Civic League Park, Santa Fe Park, and the McNease Convention Center. The project builds on the Concho River Legacy Trail and could include features like botanical gardens, kayak access, and upgraded park facilities. Community input is being gathered through surveys and social media as the plan remains in its early stages, with funding options like grants, fundraising, and private donations still under consideration.
