Two former Central Bobcats baseball players were drafted in the MLB draft and both drafted by teams from Chicago. Davis Martin, a junior pitcher for Texas Tech, was taken in the 14th round by the White Sox and Josh Sawyer, a redshirt-junior pitcher for Texas was drafted in the 16th round by the Cubs. This season, Sawyer has a 1-0 record with a 3.77 ERA in 28 relief appearances for the Longhorns. Martin is 7-5 for the Red Raiders this season with a 4.56 ERA. Martin has won 21 games in three years at Tech. Davis Martin and Josh Sawyer have until July 6th to decide to sign to play professionally or return to their school for their senior year. Martin and Texas Tech will host Duke this weekend at Super Regionals and Sawyer and Texas will host Tennessee Tech. The winner of each series will go to the College World Series in Omaha.
