The annual State of the City address will be more public than ever this year as the event, featuring Mayor Brenda Gunter, moves to the Murphey Performance Hall. A free event will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 7th. Attendees will hear from Mayor Gunter, who recently completed the first year of her four-year term. She will talk about issues of interest, impact and importance to citizens, including water supply, street reconstruction, public safety and economic development. She, City Manager Daniel Valenzuela and City directors will be available during and after the event to answer citizens’ questions. Following the program on the stage of the Murphey Performance Hall, tables manned by City officials and featuring information about City departments will be set up in the lobby and east mezzanine of City Hall. Other members of the City Council will be in attendance and available to talk to constituents.
