It took more than 6 years of planning and work on renovations to bring back a newly remodeled City Auditorium and yesterday the ribbon was cut on the Elta Joyce Murphy Performance Hall. City leaders joined with members of the performing arts coalition and chamber of Commerce in the grand opening ceremony. At the event we talked with Miss Murphy, the hall's namesake:
Tours followed the Ribbon cutting and public opening. The Performing Arts Campus project was created to enable the renovation and expansion of the City Auditorium as well as the reuse of the adjacent former Coca-Cola bottling plant.
