Openings for Kids Summer Computer Camp at ASU

There are still open slots remaining for the annual ASU Code Camp that will be hosted by Angelo State University’s Department of Computer Science June 5-16 in the Mathematics-Computer Science (MCS) Building, 2200 Dena Drive, on the ASU campus.
The two-week camp is open to junior high and high school students interested in computer science and coding, and will be directed by Dr. William Wolfe, chair of the Computer Science Department. Activities will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day Monday through Friday, June 5-9 and 12-16, in the MCS Building computer labs.
Registration fee for the camp is $35 per person, and advance registration is required. Anyone planning to participate is asked to register by May 31.
Attendees will learn to design, implement and test computer code using the Java programming language and the Unity3D Game Engine. They will also learn the basics of computer science as they work in groups to implement a variety of applications. No programming experience is required, and students with prior programming experience or who have attended previous ASU Code Camps will work on more advanced projects.
To register for the Code Camp, contact Belinda Saaranen in the Computer Science Department at 325-942-2101 or email computer.science@angelo.edu.
