Hundreds of entrants were competing in the waters of Lake Nasworthy over the weekend as thousands of fans lined the shore for the 15th Annual Wake the Desert Wakeboarding tournament. It is the longest running wake boarding event in the State. The event began Friday evening and went through yesterday at Middle Concho Park. The tournament brings entrants and spectators from all over the southwest to compete in several divisions from beginners and youth to pro classes. Officials say more than 25 thousand dollars in cash prizes were awarded.
