Sales Tax Holiday Coming
July 13, 2014 05:43 PM
Texas Comptroller Susan Combs is reminding shoppers they can save money on certain items priced under 1 hundred dollars during the state’s annual sales tax holiday. This year, it's set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 8th through the 10th. The law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under 1 hundred dollars from sales tax, which could save shoppers about 8 dollars on every 1 hundred they spend. Lists of apparel and school supplies that may be purchased tax free can be found on the Comptroller’s website at www dot Texas Tax Holiday dot org.
