This month will feature 2 events at Historic Fort Concho.
Fort Concho will celebrate National Cowboy Day on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. at the American Plains Artists Summer Show at Barracks 6 off Henry O’ Flipper Street on the fort’s northeast corner. There will be a short tour of this year’s show. The Concho Cowboy Company will perform one of their award-winning skits in the barracks 5 & 6 courtyards. Coffee, juice, fruit, and breakfast pastries will be available. Admission is free.
Then on Wednesday, July 28th it's the 155th anniversary of the buffalo soldiers. The celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a retreat ceremony on the fort’s parade ground followed by a special program by the Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory in the Commissary building.
