ASU War Lecture Series

Angelo State University’s Department of History will host two separate installments of its Great War Centennial Commemoration Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22nd, and on Monday, March 26th, on the ASU campus. The first talk titled “Entertaining with Troops: Female Impersonation in World War I Service Shows.” Dr. Allison Robbins, associate professor of music at the University of Central Missouri, will discuss wartime entertainment at service shows during the Great War. It will take place in Room 100 of the ASU Cavness Science Building. The March 26th talk will be “The Music of the Great War.” Dr. John Irish, ASU professor of music, will discuss the types of music popular among soldiers and civilians during the early 1900s.
