The San Angelo Health Department reports that there continues to be a large number of Covid-19 cases being reported recently. There were a total of 131 new positive cases reported on Monday. 28 were PCR cases and 103 antigen cases. There is a total of 9,240 positive cases, with 1,633 active cases and 97 Covid-19 patients currently hospitalized with 18 patients in ICU. Since the last report, they have released 960 cases and contacts of cases. There are 110 pending tests from the combined Shannon campuses.
City Mayor Brenda Gunter and local medical officials are strongly urging everyone to wear a mask, wash hands frequently, practice social distancing, and don't attend large gatherings, to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
